Pet Groomer


A dog groomer is responsible for the grooming of a dog. They do everything from brushing a dog's hair to cutting their nails. A few of the main duties of a dog groomer are talking with customers to select a grooming package, cleaning the dog's teeth, washing and shampooing the dog, and cutting the dog's hair. They also have to get the dogs to relax. A dog groomer should have professional grooming skills. One of the most important skills that a dog groomer will have is their ability to work with any type of dog. Another skill is time management as the dog groomer will need to make sure that all dogs are groomed in any given day. They also need to be able to multitask to complete other job duties.

Grooming Assistant


A dog grooming assistant is a person who works in the pet salon that works with a pet groomer to assist that person in routine aspects of bathing and conditioning dogs. The grooming assistant also works with the groomer to help calm or distract dogs during hair grooming and nail trimming. 

The dog grooming assistant will typically prepare the pet for services by administering a bath. For bigger and more reluctant dogs, this may require other assistants to help calm or distract the animal. The grooming assistant typically applies a safe and canine-approved shampoo and soap to the dog's coat. At this point, the grooming assistant also inspects various areas on the dog for signs of skin irritation, flea activity, and ticks.

Pet Bather


As a dog bather, your duties focus on washing dogs in a pet grooming facility, animal spa, or boarding venue. In this job, you wash dogs using pet cleaning products, blow dry and then brush their fur, and provide care until their owner picks them up.


Our bathers focus on washing services and leave other professionals to post-bath grooming tasks. Depending on where you work, you may have additional responsibilities, such as offering nail trim services or tooth cleaning.


In addition to pet facilities, dog bathers can work in other areas such as our kennels.

Kennel Assistant/Receptionist


Kennel attendants provide daily care for our pet sitting pets and assist with breeding kennel maintenance. They are involved with scheduling pet sitting appointments, cleaning cages and runs, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring the behavior of the pets. Bathing Pets. They also interact with clients as they pick up and drop off their pets. 

Kennel attendants work under the direct supervision of a facility supervisor. 

Kennel attendants may be required to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. They also must be prepared to handle pets that may be stressed due to being in an unfamiliar environment. Kennel workers always should use caution when administering medication, feeding, and exercising pets to minimize the chance of an injury.
